Introducing the 2013 Teachers!

Shannon Snyder

Shannon lives in Greenwich, NY. She loves hiking and being outside in nature. She has recently taken up gardening and is excited about all the flowers, herbs and vegetables that are coming up in her garden this year. She loves all kinds of animals, and has two cats. Shannon comes to Emma Willard with many years to English teaching experience, including at Harvard's summer English program.

Carlie Johnson

Carlie was born and raised in Washington State, but has spent the last nine years studying and living abroad in both Mexico and Spain. She has a passion for languages, and loves teaching. In her free time she enjoys travelling, cooking, and reading. She’s always looking for new adventures, and new experiences! 

Mercy Hume

Mercy is excited for another amazing summer English program at Emma Willard! She has been teaching English and English as a Second Language in the United States, Japan and Germany. She enjoys working with students of all ages and ability levels. In her free time she likes to play basketball and read. Mercy lives in Seattle, Washington, with her husband Colin and her cat Pablo (who is upset he is not coming to Emma this summer!)
